1 Peter 5:8 NASB "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."As I crawled around to "get him", I made the sound of a roaring lion! Having fun with my grandson, we began to play a game where he would run through the house and I would try to "get him" by acting like a lion! Today's verse speaks to us to be ready and alert, for the devil seeks to get us like a roaring lion! As I began to crawl around after him, I realized that I was acting just like today's scripture shares! I wasn't looking to devour my grandson but just get him and make him laugh. The sad reality is that the devil isn't looking to make us laugh but to get us off the walk we have with Christ. He is waiting in the shadows, at a moments notice to pounce on us, to destroy what God has created within us. Let's not allow the devil to "get us" but stay strong in the Word, praying without ceasing, walking in the Spirit, and staying alert! There are many "shadows" in the world but there is Light in His Word! peace, tom

Micah 6:8 NASB "He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?"Before I even thought of signing the contract, I needed to read all the requirements of the agreement between the two of us! Today's verse makes it pretty simple, the requirements that God is looking for from us, to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with Him! At first they may not seem too hard but if we seriously look at how we are applying them to our walk on this earth, we may just find that we need to work a little harder! Whether we are signing up for a new membership at the local gym, or buying a new vehicle, or getting a new credit card, there are and will be requirements in order for the contract to be instituted. Let us not null and void the contract we have with Christ by not keeping our side of the deal, and the best part is that there is no fine print in our Bibles, it's pretty clear and straight forward. The question is, did we sign on the dotted line with Christ?! peace. tom
Isaiah 40:29 NASB "He gives strength to the weary,
And to the one who lacks might He increases power."I just heard about a new thing, it's called Covid Fatigue! People have become fatigued with the disease and with all the restrictions being thrown at us and some have become to give in and give up! Today's Word shares where we can find the strength to keep on going, to find peace amid the chaos, to find rest when we become weary in life. I am not sure what time it was but I knew that we had been fighting the fire for hours. Most of those with me were getting to the point of exhaustion and yet we continued on knowing that we needed to get the fire out. I couldn't help but think that in those days I was putting the fire out and these days, I am fanning the flame to keep it going and the best place to go is Christ. Let us not grow weary but encourage each other to keep on keeping on! Find strength in Christ these days and fan the flame to help those in need! peace, tom |
