Romans 14:19(NASB) "So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another."As the conversation at the men's gathering started to become heated, today's verse came across our reading! It's a rather simple thought and yet so important as we do this thing called life. Making peace and building each other up seems like so simple a way of life and yet so hard when we encounter those who have differing views. The men and I were discussing dealing with co workers who would rather cause us hardship than help. Some said to treat them like "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" meaning to be as mean to them and they are to us and others simply said to leave them alone. When we read today's verse we realized that following Christ meant more than just walking away, it means finding and pursue peace with those who cause us harm. I think Jesus said it best when He said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do!" Sounds like a great place to start as we deal with those who cause us difficulty! peace, tom
