Proverbs 20:4 (NASB) "The sluggard does not plow after the autumn, So he begs during the harvest and has nothing."I am so glad I took care of things last year, cause the harvest is beginning to come! Sure it was hard work last fall, taking care of the garden soil, making sure I turned it over and over, getting rid of unwanted rocks and weeds. I didn't know at the time how important getting the soil prepared for planting in the spring was until now as the summer harvest has begun! Today the verse speaks about those who don't prepare and have nothing to show for it when the harvest comes! I can be as lazy as the next guy, but I remember my grandfather and father preparing their garden soil in the fall so that the summer harvest was plenty. Getting off our good intentions and preparing for what is to come is hard work, it takes dedication and preparing for what may not come but when done correctly, we will see the results. Shaking off the habit of laziness can be a struggle but if we have hope, it will be worth the effort. Don't be the like the grasshopper of the old childhood story, be like the ant and prepare for the battles ahead! peace, tom
