1 Timothy 2:8 (NASB) "Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension."I think he was rather surprised by my answer but its what I did when I was on watch at the fire house. Each man stands a watch during the night at the fire house and during my watch one night a rookie firefighter came into the watch desk and asked what I was doing! Today's verse shares about men praying in every place! I simply told him that I read my Bible and pray, he was rather shocked. Sometimes we think that prayer is only for Sunday mornings while we attend service but nothing can be farther from the Truth. Paul told us to "praying without ceasing", let that sink in, pray all the time. When we pray all the time, that means we keep our focus on Christ rather than the struggles. The second part of the verse speaks about lifting up holy hands without wrath and dissension and I am reminded of when I went to a football game and the home team scored, all the men lifted up hands and yelled "Touchdown" together - if we can do that seems like we can lift our hands to praise our God, just sayin! peace, tom
