1 Thessalonians 5:14 ESV "And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all."It was called training for a reason! It seemed that each time a rookie class of firefighters graduated, I would get one, so out each day and night and we would train! Today's verse speaks to us about admonishing the idle, encouraging the fainthearted, helping the weak and being patient with them all. When I would call for training, some of the older guys on the crew didn't want to go, some of the new recruits weren't exactly sure they wanted to go and so out we would go - and why you may ask, because the people in the city where we lived were counting on us to be there when fire broke out or they needed first aid! How many people are counting on us to do what God has called us to do?! We need to train ourselves in the ways of the Lord by reading His Word daily, walking in the Spirit and being patient with all of those we encounter in life. So, the question is... how's your training going?! peace, tom
