1 Peter 4:10 NASB "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God." It wasn't for us but for them! Today's Word is about using that special gift, talent from God to serve others! As we began the project, people began to bring there expertise to help get things done. Not one person had the same gifting as another so each part of the project needed them in order to accomplish our goal. Too many times we think that it's all about us - that's just plain selfishness but when we bring our gifts and talents to help others we are in fact using those gifts the way God intended us to use them. She was an elderly lady and came that day to help. She said she couldn't do a lot but would pray as others worked. She knew it was more about others than herself. What special gift has God given us and are we using it to serve others?! peace. tom

Ephesians 5:14 NASB "For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”"The family rejoiced! Today's verse is about being awake and being revived! It happened suddenly, he began to breath on his own. While responding to a call about a man who had stopped breathing, we began CPR right away. As we performed the chest compressions and breathing, the man suddenly began to breath on his own. He still needed to go to the hospital but the family was rejoicing for this man was dead and now lived! In life, it may seem as if we are the walking dead. Going from place to place, job to job without truly being awake. Let the change of seasons awaken us from this walking slumber and be revived by our living God. Look to Him for the new life that can be found only through Jesus Christ. Let us awake from our slumber for there is much work to do for the Kingdom of God! peace, tom
