1 John 1:8 NASB "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."Thanks for letting me know! Today's verse is pretty powerful when it comes to being Truthful! From time to time I misspell a word or get the wrong tense of the verb as I share these. Whether I went too fast, didn't check auto correct or failed to catch the error, I have those who send me a simple message of my error. I am grateful for the responses because it means people are reading them!! I wouldn't say that misspelling a word is sin but making errors in our life can be sin. The question is are we checking and rechecking the decisions, choices, and lifestyle against the Truth of God's Word?! Let us never say we have no sin within us, for then we make ourselves god!! And that is a sin in itself, it's making ourselves an idol!! (I think I spelled that right!) peace, tom

Proverbs 3:6 NASB "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight."How far we've come! Today's Word is about acknowledging God and what He will do for us! I had the opportunity to work with my father in law, a master carpenter. One day, during lunch, he began to tell me about a time when he was young. How he would find bent nails and straighten them out because money and nails were scarce back then. I began to think about how far we've come where at any job site, you can find perfectly good nails laying around. We've become so rich that we no longer need to find bent nails and straighten them to be used. I believe that's because of the blessings of God. We just don't acknowledge the blessings and I wonder if that's why we seem to be falling off course. We need to get back to acknowledging God and get back on the right path! Maybe it's time to straighten some things out in our life and we will appreciate the blessings of God! peace, tom
Hebrews 13:8 NASB "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever."Wow, where did July go?! Today's verse is a great one to hold on to as time seems to go by so quickly! I can believe that it's August already, where did July go?! Time seems to go by so quickly and today we change our calendars to August. A new month, a new opportunity to start fresh and although we change our calendars, we can hold on to today's verse that Jesus Christ is the same. I wonder if my relationship with Him is the same or is it growing? With a new month, I have the opportunity to grow closer to Him by spending more time in His Word, time in prayer and time listening to the Holy Spirit. Choices, yes choices we can make for a new month to bring us closer to Him. peace, tom
