Ephesians 4:12 NASB "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ"Sometimes it's about learning how to do it better! Today's Word speaks of equipping and building up! I stood back and let him try to do it by himself rather than doing it by myself. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with some young men. Teaching them some of the skills that others had taught me and nothing equips them better than letting them get their hands dirty. It's one thing to read about doing it, watching others do it but the best way to let them learn is to let them get their hands on it and try! Sure, their first attempts can get kind of messy but over time they will learn the skill. Equipping and building up, when it comes to the things of God, we need to teach them but then let them get their hands dirty! Let's not try to do it all by ourselves but allow others to learn and come alongside us! I think that's why Jesus chose 12 to learn and send them out two by two! peace, tom

Genesis 19:26 NASB "But Lot’s wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt." I like salt but this is too much! Today's Verse comes from a story in the Bible and you'll have to look it up to read the whole thing but know this, don't look back! As a young boy I liked to play practical jokes and one of them was to loosen the top of the salt shaker. Maybe you've done it too or have been the victim of it?! When the person goes to use the salt, the entire bottle empties on their plate. It seemed kind of funny until one day my dad sat me down and told me of those who didn't have enough to eat, and how my little prank was ruining the food that others were to eat. I never did that prank again realizing the waste of food that I was doing. Let's not waste what the Lord has blessed us with but take care of the blessings by not being wasteful. Let' s move forward from those childish pranks and not look back! peace, tom
1 John 5:13 NASB "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life."Maybe you do and maybe you don't but I pray you do! Today's Word speaks about eternal life, what believing in His Name brings! We traveled from church to church to celebrate the lives of two different people. One being an 80 year old woman and another for a 67 day old little baby girl. It was a day of reflection as we celebrated their lives and I couldn't help but think as we drove, that many do not know Jesus Christ and the eternal life He brings to us. If nothing else from these daily devotions, I pray that they would inspire you to find Jesus! Find a bible believing, bible preaching church and come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. But you don't have to go to church to meet Jesus, all it takes is a cry of our heart, recognizing our sin, and asking Him to forgive us and to be Lord of our life. Whether we are 80 years old or 67 days old, there is an eternity that awaits for us! peace, tom
