Psalm 118:24 (NASB) "This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it."I didn't find it until the day was almost gone! Driving home from a day of fishing, where I didn't catch anything while others did brought me sadness but then... Today's verse shares that this is the day that the Lord has made and we should rejoice and be glad in it. I didn't have much joy in the fact that things didn't go the way I wanted. With no fish in my basket, sort of speak, I found myself sad, but as we drove home, I came to realize that the day spent with my dad, was the blessing! Finding the joy in each day can be hard, but if we realize that each day is a blessing, whether we face adversity or not, can be a day of joy, we just need an attitude adjustment! With the coronavirus quarantine, we may find that time with family becomes stressful, not being able to go about our "normal" routines can be a struggle but if we adjust our attitude to where those things are blessings, we can find the joy of the day! Rejoice and be glad for these are the exact things we wished for, when we worked so much! peace, tom

What's worse than the Coronavirus?
The reality is that with more men staying home due to government restrictions of travel, the number of domestic violence incidents is on the rise. Men are struggling with change, their schedules have been altered, they find themselves in unfamiliar territory when it comes to leading their families and anger, violence is their way of lashing back! It doesn't have to be that way, shouldn't be that way and needs to change. We, men, know those who may fall into this category, those who turn to anger when the struggles of life become overwhelming. We need to turn to Jesus but we also need each other, to check on those who need a shoulder to lean on, to check on the wives and children of those at risk. Don't let the coronavirus be your excuse this time to let anger have it's way in your life, turn to Jesus, turn to another guy and ask for help - your family depends on it! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB) "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."No one likes change! We become so comfortable in our daily routines that change makes us uncomfortable. I never thought that the change that took place would have such a life altering effect, maybe you have felt it too! Today's Word shares how when we come to Christ, we are a new creation, old has passed away and new things come! When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my life changed. I didn't do the same things I did before, there was a newness to life. With the coronavirus, life has changed. We don't do the normal routines anymore but this change can be looked at as a life altering event. I see more people praying, more people passing the "Good News" on social media, I see neighbors helping neighbors and I even see total strangers stepping in to help each other out. That's the kind of change Jesus Christ brings to a life and the world. Are you ready to make the change?! peace, tom
John 16:33 (NASB) "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”"As we reached the summit, we found ourselves elated to have made the journey! Taking some young campers up to the top of the mountain brought a sense of peace. The journey was rough at times with some of the boys wanting to quit, but they pushed on! Today we read that God has spoken to us about peace, and that although we may have tribulations, we can take courage, knowing that Christ has overcome the world. With more and more news of the covid-19 virus spreading, and many getting sick and even dying, we can take courage knowing that Christ is on our side. The view from the top of the climb was amazing and one day we will all stand before God and it will be amazing too, but for now we need to be strong in Christ, follow the recommendations of those in authority and find peace in the comfort of His Word! Be safe and keep praying! God will see us through and the view will be amazing!! peace, tom
Proverbs 18:2 (NASB) "A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind."Growing up in my family meant that today, April 1st, you would find that some sort of a foolish prank was played on you! We celebrate April Fools Day and have a good laugh doing so. Today's verse speaks about the foolish who do not delight in understanding but only wants to reveal his own mind! I am not sure if the prank itself was the best part or the telling of how it was accomplished. I have found mannequins sitting in my car when I got out of work or a friendly police officer coming to give me a "fake" ticket. How these things were orchestrated was sometimes an amazing feet and hearing how it was accomplished showed real wisdom. In our world today, we can be a fool and not look to the understanding found in God's Word or we can become wise in the ways of His Word by reading it daily! Life always comes down to choice! peace, tom
