Isaiah 26:4 NASB "Trust in the Lord forever,
For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock."I never really understood today's scripture until we tried to move it! It speaks of our Lord as an everlasting Rock! While trying to set the platform down for a customer's shed, we needed to make sure the ground was level so we began to dig and that's when we hit it... the everlasting rock! We tried to dig around it so we could get it out, but it didn't move. We needed to bring in some heavy equipment to lift the rock out so we could level the ground to lay the platform. Realizing that the Lord is an everlasting Rock brings forth a comforting thought that no matter what we face, He is and will always be there for us. The question for today is whether or not we are so hard headed that we don't think we need Him in our life?! Stand upon the Rock of Christ for He is unmovable! peace, tom

1 Thessalonians 5:21 NASB "but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good," I should have examined it a little more closely! Today we read about examining things and holding tight to the good things! As soon as I attached the wire, I knew that I didn't check to make sure things were right! The sparks began to fly as I turned on the power, I had put the negative and positive wires in the wrong the place! In my rush to get it done, I didn't take the time to examine things carefully, I would have seen that the wires were crossed. Once the power was put back on, the sparks began to fly! In life, if we don't keep the positive and negative separate, there will be sparks in our life. We need to examine everything as today's verse states so that we hold firm to the good. Simple mistakes of not examining our life and the things we allow in our daily walk will come back to bite us in the end. Keep a watchful eye to make sure we keep the positive things in our life and get rid of the negative unless we want to get burned! peace, tom
1 Peter 4:10 NASB "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God."We were like a well oiled machine! Today's Word speaks of using our "special gift" given by God so that we may serve one another. As each man did his part, the job went quicker than expected and yet we had never worked together before! When we use the gifts that God has given us, things can go better than expected. As the men began to unload the trucks of goods that we were to give out to the public, we got into a rhythm like a fine orchestra. Each man, doing his part, using their gifting to serve others! I know I shouldn't be amazed but I was as men of different backgrounds, different struggles, came together as one to serve others. The question for today is, are we using our gifts to serve others?! peace, tom
