John 8:36 NASB "So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free."it's not just for one day! Today's verse tells us that if Jesus sets us free, we will really be free. It was years ago that we had a parakeet. His name was Charlie and he had free reign to fly around the house. Each day, I would go and open his cage door so he could be free to fly around.  On the days when we had company coming over, I would make sure his cage door was closed. I could tell that he was sad that he had lost the freedom to fly around the house. When Jesus sets us free, the cage door of the sin, of our past, of our mistakes is open so that we don't have to go back into that kind of a life. We can overcome all those things, that keep us imprisoned, by the blood of Jesus. Let us not fall back and be caged in again, but allow the Holy Spirit to free us from that former life - so that we can truly be free! peace, tom
