John 3:16 NASB "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."It's probably the most known scripture of the entire Bible and yet... Today's Verse is the key to understanding the love of God. He gave His only Son so you and I may not perish! He saw me reading my Bible at a local coffee shop and asked if he could talk to me. As we talked, he shared how he used to go to church but he was hurt by someone and never went back. I asked him how his relationship was with Jesus - his reply, he doesn't have one because of being hurt at church. Too many times, I have heard the stories of how some turn away from God because of being hurt by either someone in their church, or how their father treated them. If we base our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit by how others treat us, we will never get past the pain of what man can do. If we were to take the time to read today's verse, and let the fact that God loves us so much to send His Son to die for us, maybe we can give God another opportunity! Don't let man steal the love of God from our lives! Just sayin'! peace, tom
