Today 6-7-2024

2 Timothy 2:3 NASB "Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus."It didn't turn out well! Today's Word speaks of being a good soldier of Jesus and suffering hardship! No one said it was going to be easy, or that everyone who was trapped would get out alive! Our crew had searched with all our strength and effort but we didn't find the man in time. As the fire and smoke gave way to the fire being put out, we finally found the body of the home owner. Saddened, I remember sitting back at the fire house as we discussed how we may have found him sooner. Sometimes no matter what we do, things are going to happen. Those of us who know Christ, found strength in Him, others found strength in the bond we share as firefighters! Make sure we have some godly men in our lives to share the suffering, no matter what it may look like - a bad health check up, a financial struggle, a disagreement with our wives, a wayward child - having a godly shoulder to lean on can make the difference! Don't go it alone, for life can be a battle - have Christ and a team with us, we can get through anything! peace, tom
