Proverbs 22:6 NASB "Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it." We may not be there to see it but we still need to do it! Today's Word is about raising children, and how when they get older, they will not depart from it. I was asked recently why I take care of my grandchildren on certain days of the week. My reply was rather simple - I love them but there's another reason. I get to pour into their lives, the lessons my parents and grandparents taught me. I get to tell them stories of our loved ones that have passed one and most importantly I get to tell them about Jesus. We never know what sinks into the mind of a child, what they will remember or not, but while we have the opportunity, let's make sure we share life with them. One day, we may just find that all we did for them will come back to us in the love they have for us when we need to be taken care of. Make time for the children, ours and others for they are gifts from God! peace, tom
