Psalm 141:3 NASB "Set a guard, Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips."Once it's out there, it tough to get it back! Today's Word is about asking God to set a guard over what we say. We have all heard the saying "it's tough to get the toothpaste back in the tube" and the same goes for the words we speak. If we really want to know where our hearts are, listen to what we say when things go wrong. I remember hitting my hand with the hammer as I was putting roofing shingles down, the word that came out spoke to where my heart was and it wasn't good. I could have used the excuse that I was in pain but that's not a good excuse. What we say, how we say it, will speak volumes about our walk with Christ. It's better not to say anything rather than utter a quick word that will do damage to our witness of knowing Christ. Let's watch our words for once out, they can't be put back it! peace, tom
