Proverbs 10:2 ESV "Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death."The guilt became overwhelming! Today's verse is about profit but those gained by wickedness! Sitting with the accounting department, for the business I was working for, we began to go over the numbers. As he asked where certain funds came from, I shared what the owner told me to say. I knew that what I said was wrong, the funds were gained illegally and I should have spoken up but I wanted to be loyal to my boss. The only problem was that I cared more about what my boss thought of me than what my God has spoken in His Word regarding Truth. I finally made the call to my boss and told him I needed to tell the Truth to the accountant. Of course I was fired, but I have no more guilt about what I said. We need our actions to speak the Truth more than just gaining profit! Let our business practices reflect His Truth in all matters! peace, tom
